Onboarding Goals

Onboarding is about making the site operational, not just creating an account

The setup flow is designed to get a new site to the point where it has product data, competitor coverage, and the basics needed for pricing. Until those pieces are in place, the dashboard and rules sections may look incomplete.

  • Connect the product source.
  • Run the first product import.
  • Find or request competitors.
  • Enable the competitor set that actually matters to your market.
  • Move into pricing tools only after the data coverage looks sensible.
Product Import Step

How to run your first import

1

Go to the product import step during onboarding

The app checks whether products already exist for the selected site and shows the import progress area.

2

Start the import

Pricemaster runs the import in the background so you can monitor progress while it works through the catalogue.

3

Wait for the product count to populate

Once the import is complete, you should be able to move into products, rules, competitors, and the dashboard with real data behind them.

When A Site Is Ready

Signs the setup is far enough along for day-to-day use

  • The product list is populated and searchable.
  • At least a useful first set of competitors has been enabled.
  • The dashboard is showing product counts and recent movement.
  • You can simulate a rule against a meaningful set of products.
  • Reports return real rows instead of empty outputs.
