Matching, direct URLs, and duplicate resolution
How Pricemaster links products to competitor pages, how to handle one-off tracking cases, and how to choose the right match when several candidates exist.
Automatic matching handles the majority, but not every edge case
Most competitor links are created automatically. Manual tools exist for the products that need a closer look, such as products with many near-identical variants, competitor pages that do not map cleanly, or special one-off URLs that you still want to track.
Direct URLs are for page-by-page monitoring
Open the product you want to track
Direct URLs are attached to individual products rather than whole competitors.
Add the competitor page URL
Pricemaster probes the page and tries to detect the price automatically.
Choose the scrape method if needed
If the automatic read is not enough, use the XPath-based setup or a custom parser option.
Save and fetch
The first fetch runs immediately so you can confirm the setup worked.
How to pick the right match when there are several
The duplicate manager helps you compare multiple candidate URLs for the same product and competitor. Pricemaster gives each candidate a recommendation based on identifiers, title similarity, recent price data, and price proximity, but you can still make the final choice yourself.
- Choose the candidate that best matches the exact product variant.
- Prioritise exact identifiers when they are present.
- Use the product title and current price as additional sense checks.
- Work through duplicate groups until the important competitors look clean.
