How It Works
Connect Linnworks once and Pricemaster reprices every channel
Linnworks already sits at the centre of your operation and feeds all of your sales channels — Amazon, eBay, your Shopify, Magento or BigCommerce store, your own website and any marketplaces. Because Pricemaster connects straight to Linnworks through the official Linnworks API, one connection links Pricemaster to your entire multichannel catalogue. There is nothing to set up per channel.
The flow is a closed loop: Pricemaster reads your catalogue, watches the market, calculates new prices inside your margin rules, and writes them back to each item's retail price in Linnworks. Linnworks then distributes that price out to every channel the item is published on — exactly as it does today.
Reprice once, everywhere: you don't integrate each marketplace separately. Pricemaster updates the price in Linnworks and Linnworks handles the channel distribution you already rely on.
What Syncs
What Pricemaster reads, and what it writes back
Imported from Linnworks
Pricemaster pulls your stock items page by page and captures, for each one:
- SKU (Linnworks item number)
- Title & description
- Barcode / GTIN — used for accurate competitor matching
- Category
- Current retail price
- Cost / purchase price — powers margin maths
- Tax rate (VAT handled correctly)
- Stock quantity
- Main product image
Written back to Linnworks
The only thing Pricemaster changes is the price:
- The new retail price on the base stock item, pushed on a schedule (or on demand).
- Every change is logged with the rule that caused it, the old and new price, and the resulting margin.
Pricemaster does not touch your orders, stock levels, listings or channel configuration.
VAT & variations handled for you: prices are normalised to a consistent ex-VAT basis internally for correct margin calculations, then written back in the format your account expects. Placeholder "variation parent" records are skipped, so it's your real, sellable items that get tracked and priced.
Before You Start
What you need (and what you don't)
Connecting is a standard Linnworks app approval — the same flow you use for any Linnworks add-on. You'll need:
- An active Linnworks account with your catalogue and channels already set up.
- Permission to authorise a third-party application in Linnworks.
You do not need:
- Any CSV exports or imports — your catalogue imports itself.
- Developer work, or API keys to generate and paste by hand.
- Per-channel integration — Linnworks already handles channel distribution.
Connecting Your Account
Authorise Pricemaster on Linnworks
1
Pick Linnworks on the onboarding screen
From the onboarding "What platform are you using?" screen, choose Linnworks.
2
Enter a site name
Give the site a name (for example Acme Linnworks) and, optionally, your shop URL. Then click Authorise Pricemaster on Linnworks.
3
Approve Pricemaster in Linnworks
A new tab opens on Linnworks. Click Install application to approve Pricemaster. You can leave the Pricemaster tab open — it's waiting for Linnworks to confirm.
4
The connection is detected automatically
Linnworks confirms the approval back to Pricemaster server-to-server, so there is no token to copy or paste. The onboarding page detects it, verifies the account (it reads back your company name so you can confirm you've connected the right one), and takes you straight to your products.
Rolling out: Linnworks onboarding is being switched on account by account. If you don't yet see Linnworks as an option, your Pricemaster contact will complete the connection with you — the approval step above is exactly what you'll click on the Linnworks side.
After You Connect
What happens next
Pricemaster kicks off the first catalogue import in the background and walks you through the rest of onboarding:
1
Products import
Your Linnworks stock items are pulled in with their titles, barcodes, cost, tax, stock and images. You can watch progress from the products area.
2
Match and select competitors
Each product is matched to competitor listings, primarily by GTIN. You then enable the competitors that matter for your market.
3
Set your rules and go live
Build your pricing rules — follow-the-market, undercut, flat markup, flash — always inside your minimum-margin and cash-floor guardrails. From then on, prices recalculate against fresh market data and write back to Linnworks on a schedule. You can also trigger a manual send at any time.
When cost prices change in Linnworks, repricing recalculates on the new cost basis so your margins hold. Order and sales-history import for profitability analytics is on the roadmap for the next platform version.
Security & Control
You stay in control of the connection
- Access is via a per-account installation token that Linnworks issues when you approve the app.
- You can revoke it at any time from Linnworks under Settings → Applications — no need to contact us first.
- Pricemaster requests only what it needs: read your catalogue, and update retail prices. It does not modify orders or channel settings.
- Your Linnworks data stays the single source of truth; Pricemaster reads from it and writes prices back.
FAQs
Common questions
- Which sales channels does this cover? All of them, indirectly. Pricemaster updates the price in Linnworks and Linnworks distributes it to whatever channels each item is published on — Amazon, eBay, Shopify, Magento, your website, marketplaces. You don't integrate each channel separately.
- Will it change anything other than prices? No. It reads your catalogue and updates the retail price of items. Orders, stock levels, listings and channel configuration are left untouched.
- How often do prices update? Competitor data is refreshed on a schedule and prices are recalculated and pushed automatically. You can also trigger a manual send whenever you want.
- Won't automated pricing undercut my margins? No. Every automated price passes through your minimum-margin percentage and minimum cash-margin floors before it is sent. If a rule would breach a floor, the floor wins.
- Do I need CSVs or a developer? No. You authorise the Pricemaster app in Linnworks and the catalogue imports itself — nothing to export, format or upload.
- I already have an installation token — can I skip the authorise step? Yes. On the connect screen, expand "Already have an installation token?" and paste the token from Linnworks under Settings → Applications → Pricemaster.
